Snakehead Fritillary

Little bit late this year, but finally the Snakehead Fritillaries have come out. A somewhat uncommon orchid that flowers towards the end of April until May, I know of only two locations in Oxfordshire where one can see them in abundance. Quite difficult to photograph due to the breeze across the field, this is my first photograph of them. Tried first with my Phase One DF camera and Leaf Aptus digital back, but got a much better result from my Canon 5D as shown here. Used a .6 ND grad to bring in the sky values. Fuji X Pro 1

Heard so much about the Fuji x-Pro 1, so bought one ¬†with a 18-55 Xf lens. Love it! Quite compact, but a real solid build, a few ‘quirks’ But the image quality lives up to its reputation, images look really good ‘straight out the can’ especially the Fuji profiles for the film emulation such as Velvia , Provia and Astia.
